33 words: Reading challenge

The sound of the saw is steady, competent, unhurried, stirring the dying
light so that at each stroke her face seems to wake a little into an expression
of listening and of waiting

As soon as I saw this weekends Trifecta Challenge, I knew what book to go to: William Faulkner's As I Lay Dying. One of my favoritest books ever.

Few of my Favorite things Friday

Boy it's been a while since I've done one of these... I'm just gonna jump right in:

Toddler Mum-Mums
They are my favorite because they don't leave a mess in the car, which is when they get eaten by a little someone who begs for food (Cracka! Biscuit! Hungry, Mama, Eat!!). We drive in the car twice a day every single day during the week and sometimes on the weekend and my girl is growing and loves her snacks. These are like nothing (very little nutritional value so her dinner doesn't get spoiled and she remains happy). And she knows it. She's not always happy when I hand her one but after she throws a fit without it and still claims to be hungry, I offer again and it'll do. Granted I find more of them in the back seat than she eats, but they're very car friendly in that they really don't make a huge mess (and really, they're tasty- not too heavy, nice and light and airy)!

Jason's Deli
I've just recently discovered this place and hot damn do I want to move in. I've only been one time and that one time was enough to know and believe that Jason's Deli is awesome. Plain and simple. The BEST sandwich (and I love me sandwiches) I've EVER had (the Ham and Salami Mufaletta- get it.... NOW!). EVER. Honestly. Wow, I can't really put it into words how yummy this place is. Go experience it for yourself if you haven't already.

soap.com
You can get the aforementioned Mum Mums from soap.com if you want. You can also get hair care products, laundry items, toys, vibrators, toothpaste, diapers, and more from soap.com. And you can get it all by sitting your ass down in front of the computer and clicking on the items you want and paying with your handy dandy notebook credit card. And the fine people at soap.com will package everything nice and neatly in a box with their logo and get it delivered to you within a day or two. I live in a big city and always get mine delivered the next day. Super fucking convenient. I really love them. Like really really.

NOTE: these are all just my opinions and i'm not in any way, shape, or form being compensated or provided with anything from any of these favorites

Peanut Butter World

Oh.
My.
God.
The H picked up a pint of this the other week from Target and I simply cannot get enough. It's absolute perfection on a spoon, in a cup if you ask me... the milk chocolate creamy ice cream, the salty peanut butter swirls, the crispy bits of chocolate cookies... perfection on a spoon. I really hope good old Ben and Jerry keep this flavor around for a long time.

Sleep

I'm fucking tired lately. All day, every day. I'm sick of it, too. And why on earth is Lovie waking up every single friggin morning between 4 and 5 crying?! Why is she needing milk to go back to sleep?! Why doesn't she sleep 12 hours through like everyone claims their kid does? I'm tired, she's tired, we're all tired. So let's SLEEP!!

Viva Sleep!!

The Help

Last week's favorite book was Two Kisses for Maddy which I finished on Saturday (such a great book- just be sure to have some tissues present). Monday I picked up The Help and am so glad I did. I had some other suggestions for books to pick up (and probably still will at some point) but saw this one, read the first page (written from the POV of a maid way back when, very much reminding me of the style of writing from one of my all time favorite books, As I Lay Dying by William Faulkner), and had to buy it. I'm about 100 page in so far (I read sitting on the couch while Lovie watched TV for an hour a night) and I really do love the way it's written, and cannot wait to read more!

Few of my Favorite things Friday

Chocolate Cheerios

Yum. YUM! I'm not sure what it is about a bowl of Chocolate Cheerios drowning in milk, but it makes me so super duper happy to have some... and share with my little lovebug who seems to be loving them as well! COSTCO sells them in huge boxes and they had coupons so the H picked up a couple boxes the other week and we've been having Chocolate Cheerios for breakfast on weekends and for snack during the week since. Yum! And tonight, I'm making some Chocolate Cheerios Crispy Treats (think Rice Krispie treats but with CCs!). Cannot wait!

Portal 2

This is the H's fault. He's a geek and sucked me in to his world with Katamari on Playstation and then Portal on the PC. Well, Portal 2 just came out the other day and just like with Portal, it's fucking addicting and awesome. The only difference now is that Lovie exists which means we can't spend all weekend playing it.

Two Kisses for Maddy

Ever since giving in and allowing Lovie to watch TV every day when we get home, I've found myself wishing for a laptop or a better cell phone or something that would allow me to sit with her yet not watch the stupid shit that she watches (it's so damn repetitive- good for her, but enough for my eyeballs to get stuck in the back of my head permanently). Finally the other week it dawned on me: I could start reading actual books again!! So I picked up Matt Logelin's book and have been reading a bit here and there all week and have like a chapter or two to go. And I love it. So much. I knew I would because I love his blog, but yeah, it's such a great story with such emotion and heart.

more faves

These pouches of fruit and/or veggies are AWESOME. Seriously.So.Awesome! Lovie enjoys them and I'm so super duper excited to have found them because they're super duper easy to just pop in my bag so that when we start stopping at the park on our way home from school/work, a little someone will have something to nosh on so she doesn't have a meltdown that dinner's not served the second we step foot home. Love, love, LOVE: HappyBabyFood.com. (i get them from Target for like $1 a piece)

OMG are these little things addictive. Holy crap. And soooo tasty. Yum Yum YUMMMMM! We've Lovie's tried the chocolate ones, the mixed ones (choc chip, chocolate, honey), and the wheat ones. None of us She doesn't like the wheat ones at all. Love, Love, LOVE: Annie's Bunny Grahams! (i get these from Target or Walmart for like $2.50ish a box.)

Bryan Adams (51!) will always hold a special place in my heart. I know it's crazy and juvenile but whatever. I love this man. I love how real he is and I love that he LOVES what he does. Well... he's gonna be a Daddy for the first time this May. It's so silly but I'm super excited to hear how being a Daddy inspires his music. After being a mom now for almost 15 months, I can't imagine parenthood NOT inspiring him and his art.
