i hope you dance

Yesterday marked Lovie's first full month as a four year old. I kind of want to come here and gush about how awesome it is having a four year old, but I'm terrified of jinxing myself. Three was good for us-- but trying. Especially the first half of three. Oh boy is Trying a nice word to describe the first half of three. Two was not terrible at all for us. Much like one.

It's been a pure joy to mama this kid. Sure there are not-so-fun times but really? Not really! It's been a joy. I'm so blessed.

Anyhow

Next Saturday Lovie and her dad are going to a Daddy Daughter Dance. How freaking adorable is that going to be?

This is what she's wearing. Now, prepare yourself because if you know me at all, you know how anti-pink/girly/glittery/fluffy/princess I am... so ... hopefully you're sitting down.

Ready? You've been warned.

The dress:

The tights:

The shoes:

I picked the dress (and the tights) up today from Macy's (and the shoes from Payless). Um. The dress is even pink-er/girly-er/glittery-er/fluffy-er/princess-er than it looks in the photo. Like I almost didn't recognize it because it's SOOOO all those things.

And it's absolutely perfect for Lovie.

Love Bug

A couple weeks ago I was in Target on the lookout for a cute shirt or outfit for Lovie to wear for Valentine's day... but I wanted something different, something she could wear before and/or after the day as well. I found the cutest outfit just before checking out... Perfect for my little Lovie who I also refer to oftentimes (on a blog written to her) as my little Love Bug.

She wore the outfit yesterday and I nearly fainted at the cuteness... but I'm a little pissed because I bought a size 2T shirt thinking she could wear it till next fall. Um, I know my baby girl is big for her age (13 months on Saturday and 22 pounds a month ago) but check out how she's nearly busting out of this 2T shirt!

(sorry for the crappy pictures but we leave in the dark and get home in the dark and she's hard to get pictures of these days)

I just adore the little button and hole at the neckline- such a cute little touch!

I had to get the leggings... especially when I saw the thick yellow cuff! So cute!

I also bought a bright yellow skort to wear with this (or not), too!
My love bug is getting to be such a big girl!

Every girl needs one: The little black dress

I couldn't resist...Saw it at Walmart for a whopping $3.00 (onesie) and had to get it. Can't wait to put Lovie in it! I have a wedding shower on Sunday to go to without my Lovie (her name wasn't on the invite). I wasn't going to go because I *like* going places with my child, but I figure I needed to since I most likely will skip the wedding since, again, Lovie's name wasn't on the invite. I'm sort of hoping that they'll ask about Lovie (since the bride to be and her mom, whom I'm friends with, have yet to meet Lovie) and tell me to bring her to the wedding... Then she'll wear her little black dress. Bwahaha. I crack myself up.
