the builder- then and now

It's been a while since we've been to the library. Unlike many others, I like to go when it's boiling out and it's been quite the opposite now for months... so it's been months since we've been. But Lovie's been asking to go so we finally returned the books I kept renewing on Tuesday and picked out a few new ones.

While checking out the new books, we heard a crashing sound coming from the back of the children's section. Both Lovie and I turned to look toward the sound and that's when our eyes laid upon this little girl, roughly Lovie's age, building with these gigantic LEGO-like blocks. Of course, we had to go check them out.

It's funny -- this whole parenting thing. I get sad sometimes (oftentimes) when I see my girl change and grow. Not sad because I don't want her to grow, but sad because it will be the last time she sleeps in a crib, wears a diaper, drinks from a bottle, etc, etc, etc. But the truth is that watching her change and grow is such an incredible gift that I wouldn't trade for anything. Not even those baby days.

Plus. She'll always be my baby.

No point to this, really. I'm just so blessed is all, and it's been a bit since I've posted.

Happy Valentine's Day

Lovie woke this morning and found this staring back at her when she made her way into our room (like she does every morning).

"Is that for me?" she asked.

"Of course, baby. Happy Valentine's Day!"

She'd been wanting headphones for a while now. Who am I kidding? *I* have been wanting to get her headphones for a while now because she loves her Nabi (hand held gaming thing that plays music and such) and, more than that, she's become Frozen-fied. It's new word I made up that means she's become absolutely addicted to all things related to the movie Frozen, especially the music. She listens to the soundtrack over and over again on her Nabi any chance she gets. So the headphones are a necessity, really...for all human kind before I LOSE MY MIND.

The giant hippo is just an added cute bonus.

We picked up a "BE MINE" giant cookie (like a cake?) from the store last night so we'll have that tonight with daddy. That's really it. We don't really "do" Valentine's Day. Never really have. Oh well.

No matter, really. Every day is Valentine's Day with this sweet girl:

Those were taken last Saturday just before she and her dad left for the daddy-daughter dance. How freaking beautiful is she? Wow, right? She takes my breath away and so help me if anyone ever hurts her I'll take their breath away too.

Smooches.

One of my favorites from January 2014 and her first month as a four year old.
